(595 m.) The village which gave its name to the centre, placed on the slope of Mount Grona, shows integrally its late Medieval structure and, if you run along its small streets which intersect on various levels, you have the sensation of making a journey through the past. Some houses still show on their discoloured façades some religious frescoes and portals with the granite coats of arms of the families that lived there. From one of these blazons derived the coat of arms of the Municipality. The parish church of S.Fedele is placed near the village. Erected in 1582 and modified later, it shows frescoes dedicated to S.Fedele, painted by D.Beghé and C.Andreani in 1909 and one organ (Carnisi, 1846). From this village you can enjoy a wonderful, unique view over the centre of the Lake of Como.
